An Overview

The Disability Discrimination Act was introduced in 1995. The purpose of the act is to remove the discrimination disabled persons face in everyday life.


On 1st October 2004 the final phase of the Act (phase III) came into force it is now illegal to discriminate against those with a disability when offering goods or services and that reasonable efforts must be made to allow access to those goods or services.

The DDA will affect all businesses who have access problems right across the UK . There are very few exceptions to the law.
